still two days ago, after hitting it with a block of alloy and a hammer.

after much bending and adjusting looks like this.

the notches are to allow me to bend the tops in 90deg, this was a bad idea as I found out later it distorted the bend so I had to hammer the tops flat and readjust the bends on both mounts.

view from top before I bent the ends in.

side view

im also making a phone/satnav mount bar out of a bent pair of handle bars complete with threaded ends.

still got to tweak the bend on one mount as the screen is touching it, then im going to tac weld some strengtheners in so the mounts cant flex.

worst bit is I came up with a simpler way to give me the adjustment I wanted and use the oem mounts while I was still filling the holes out, once I will finish this I will have a pair of oem mounts to play with

hi everyone.
the screen mounts are now done and i'm happy enough with them to actually fit them, I also made satnav and mobile phone adapters out of some handlebar pinch clamps as I didn't like the ram style mounts.
(I was tempted to try and make a long ram bar/split tube that would fit between the screen mounts, the satnav ball mount and phone ball mount would then attach directly to it)

this is how it looks with satnav and phone

there is also a usb socket just behind the screen bracket top bolt.

heres my temporary permanent fuse box complete with earth plate and post to power it all.

found this on ebay so snapped it up

and it now looks like this im just waiting for some new bolts to arrive before fitting it.

one less item on the list to get now

haven't had a chance to see if having the screen 45mm higher makes any difference to noise (only fitted it all yesterday) I know with out the screen its a lot quieter.
I will post my findings

a bit late but happy new year to you all,
the weather is wet as normal so haven't done anything to the bike apart from riding and cleaning it.
I did receive two presents for my bike and fitted one of them as it was only a five minute job to do.

set heated grips. they will be getting fitted asp.

and a set of hand guard extensions which add an extra inch to the height of the hand guards and for the couple of day using them they do make a difference to the wind and rain protection

just need a couple of dry days to fit the heated grips and to repair the damage from a new driver.

hand guard and bar took the impact of hitting the road handle bars are still straight. (you can also see the extra height of the hand guard extension)

foot peg and exhaust, brake pedal is bent (its now straight)

fender extender scuffed

and the last bit of damage is to the front forks which i was gutted about as its a little more work involved to fix.

all parts ordered

the only good part is nobody was injured
