I need to up my electrical game. I can strip and engine and do suspension work, but the electrics are a black art. Those lighting setups look great.

glad to be of some help nbsdave.

thirtyone If you can strip and rebuild engines and suspension you can do electrics on the x, all the extra lighting and power sockets I got planned only need two relays and one fuse block, and theres always the forum for any help I may need.

on another note I was looking at centre stands for a later purchase,
cb500x 2014 /2017 the old part number 08M70-MGZ-D80 comes up as not found.
cb500x 2018/2019 new part number 08M70-MJW-DK0 comes up as  kit,main stand 115
wonder what they changed on it apart from the number

Yep, I'm sure it's not that bad. Between YouTube and the forum I'm sure I'll be able to wire up the few goodies that I have planned.

Thanks  :821:

I have been thinking of getting one of those side stand foot enlarger plates for a while as where I park my bike is starting to get a dip in the ground from the side stand so did a quick browse on ebay/amazon and there are plenty of styles and prices to choose from, I was at one point thinking I could just weld a piece of steel to the bottom of it and thought no that's almost permanent so I settled on a cheap one from ebay.

this is what it looks like fitted

really easy to fit

probably makes the footprint twice the size

it also makes the bike stand a fraction more upright.

Looking good! Yep, that little bit helps!  Previous owner of my last bike had a piece of aluminum about the same thickness drilled and countersunk. Then he drilled a few holes in the stock foot and bolted it up. Worked great and couldn't have cost much.

Thirtyone the side stand foot was 5.99 and a lot less hassle than me cutting and welding something on I may not of liked at the end.
I also ordered these as a early anniversary present for myself.
I didn't  get the plastic covers with them as im still deciding which ones to go for
.

the instructions are very easy to follow and cover three or four brands of motorcycles.

they look and feel good but why don't they spray the brackets black to match the bar.

Awesome. I've had them on the last two bikes I've owned. Super well made as you can tell.

they do feel decent, however I did find during my search for hand guards there are one or two copys of the sw-motech kobra hand guards with the two point fixing like barkbusters  for around 35 to 65 depending if they came with led indicators or not, they were for bmw and Yamaha but one of them looked identical to these bars with fitting kit.

any way I painted the brackets to match the bars the other night and now got spare time to upload the results.

this how it should all look once assembled.

going to have a go at installing one once I drunk my tea and removed the bar ends using the method in the instructions there is another method which involves using molegrips/vicegrips to remove the bar ends which there is a Thailand video on youtube showing how easy it is mmmm, (I will add a link to it)
and I was going to video it but there are a few out there all ready so I will just take pictures and add text
