the cb500x was ready for the weekend but storms c and d stopped me from taking it out for a test ride. fortunately I have had to use the cb500x for the last two days whether I wanted to or not. so here are how my heated grips look with the arrow pointing down as recommended in the fitting instructions.
left side

right side

the wiring does not touch the body work and the throttle rotates freely

Swanny if you think you are going to damage the left side try the mole grip method

I  routed the power cable along the right hand side of the frame and used a honda cable weather cover/sock/boot (don't know what its called) to hide the plugs in.

rubber boot circled

this is the temporary/permanent heater control bracket, its temporary as in its going to be replaced and permanent as I don't know when it will be replaced.

the fold was meant to of been wider on one side to the other.

here is it in all its glory (I don't like it but it works for now) I also didn't trim the double sided tape so that sticks out

im missing a side view picture

I want the heater control to be in a false panel which blends in with the plastics but its a little more involved than I thought.
(lots of carboard templates to make again)

the grips do make a difference for my short commute to and from work the lowest setting is plenty with winter gloves and current air temperature, they do feel a little fatter than the stock grips and I can feel the bulb/lump where the cable enters the right grip with my index finger which I probably wont notice its there after a week
