Low Screen
« on: May 15, 2018, 07:35:52 AM »
Hi,

Does anyone use or know who sells sport/low screens in the uk or do I just cut one down to suit, preferable one that will hit the bark busters also.

Thank

John, do you mean a screen that will not hit the BB's?  If that is the case then you only need 4 x 15mm spacers as supplied by RR or make them yourself from some alloy tube.
Archie.

Hi Archie,

Hope your well, It has the RR spacers on but still hits the hand guards, I was trying to get a small screen for a summer trip to Poland I'm hopefully doing on it :002:

I bought some spacers for the OEM screen I bought for my bike in anticipation of needing them but the BB handguards don't touch the screen??

Maybe its the way the handle bars are positioned, it has renthal fat bars and other bits fitted before I brought it I think it was a rally raid demo/show bike.

A low sport type screen seems the way to go in hotter places you need the breeze on you.

Doing ok thanks John, I trust you are in good health if your off to Poland.

I thought it had the spacers on as i seen your bike just after it was built when I visited RR.  By the sounds of it the bars are too far forward then!  I had the Renthal fat bars to begin with but felt they were not right for me so changed over to the others, that JMo mentions and found them much more comfortable as they have a more rearward position. Not much but enough to feel the difference and stop me from over reaching.  Perhaps if your after the air flow for cooling just going without a screen would work?

I'll leave you to ponder and look forward to seeing your solution whatever it is.
Cheers
Archie

Home made, Cut down original screen, 1 1/2 spacers, Plasticoted the inside.  :821:
