I’ve been watching for US 2019 for “test riding” availability. Even more reason to update the maintenance log.  :164:

Farkles: A silly little word for things I know nothing about until I read another post and wonder "Why in the world have I not gotten this yet?"

That's what I did when I bought the Honda, but I'm 65 and retired now, so I try not to think about spending more money on new bikes..... hell, does that mean this is my last bike??  :161:

I was pleasantly surprised when the 16000 mile service cost less than I had anticipated. The tech told me it's actually a fairly easy job on the CB500X.

Just a note. My X was bought at 34000km ( a little over 20000m).  The wheel bearings were not overly happy. They are stock items over the counter at bearing shops and cheap. Worth replacing the Chinese ones with Japanese or Swedish or other quality pieces.
It also still had the original plugs that were still working OK. Put new ones in anyway.
Might pay to check the play in the shift ball joints. Mine are definitely worn.

I'm interested in replacing my bearings because, although I detect no movement in my wheels, it's probably a good time to do this from a preventive maintenance perspective.

If you don't mind me digging into your experience, are there any particular brands that are better thought of than others? Also, if I dug out the part number from a catalogue, would that be all I need to get the equivalent, or is there some special code that I should be aware of?

Thanks!  :002:
