Hello from Western Kentucky...
« on: November 12, 2018, 08:23:36 PM »
Hello all,
I found this site while doing research for a riding buddy of mine who just bought a new 2015 X. I've been riding for almost 48 years, and I currently ride a 2002 Harley Road King Classic, and a 2005 Suzuki V-Strom 650. All of my riding was done on Hondas up until the late 90's when I caught the Harley bug. I was in the market for a newer Strom and then I took my buddy's X for a ride and I got hooked. I kept looking at the pros and cons of the two and had almost talked myself out of the Honda until I went to Honda's website and learned of the changes to the 2019 version. I am buying this bike for a trip back up to Alaska that will be around 16,000 miles round trip taking the long way home.

I will probably have a ton of questions for you all in the coming months, but I'll try to search the forum before asking a bunch of questions that have been answered dozens of times. Thanks in advance....

You'll find that there's quit a few, shall we say- 'more mature' riders on this forum.
There's also a thread on usernames, which is a good read + you could contribute to....

Welcome aboard. It's a great time to be looking at the X. Well, it's always been a great bike, but the 19 model has gotten some nice upgrades. Ask away. A very friendly bunch hangs out in these parts of the interwebs.

When do you plan to go to AK?  My son wants to go to Prudhoe next summer.  We are in Texas... He bought me a well equipped, low mileage '14 X a few weeks ago and is pushing me to put 7K miles under my but by the summer so I'll be prepared for a long ride through AK.  I haven't ridden in about 45 years, but I'm havin' a ball on this bike!  :152:  Hope you enjoy yours as much as I am mine!

:400: Glad you are here and I have almost the same story with the DL's. Glad you are here and the 2019 looks to be the one Honda listen to the CBX riders and made me want a new one.

I can highly recommend Alaska.  I'd suggest you ride North + ferry South.
