Try cleaning your side stand switch.

Check the neutral switch first.  The symptoms seem to match that problem better.

Here's an alternative thought.... my bike will crank but not start with the side stand down, I know this is odd but it is what it is. Try putting the stand up and pulling in the clutch before you hit the starter button. Should start right up. Maybe. Let us know.

So that seems to be the issue... it took me longer then it should of to try your suggestion as the starting issue seemed so linked to the temperature, that is until I had my hardest start so far in a 50F garage and received more posts related to side stand and clutch switches.

Sure enough side stand up with or without clutch in neutral and the bike springs to right to life, regardless of temperature.

Thank you for the original suggestion, I'm kicking myself for not trying sooner.
