Hello from snowy Ottawa Canada
« on: January 06, 2019, 03:23:36 PM »
I Just bought a brand new, in the crate, 2017! I'll pick it up in the spring. The plan is to go exploring so I am looking for tips on luggage and touring.

:401: I was in Ottawa last year for the Tulip Festival. What a beautiful city! Well worth the visit and worthy of a second trip.

If you have a place to store it, you might want to pick it up sooner.  That will give you time to get familiar with it and possibly get a few basic farkles, like a better horn and some aux lighting and maybe some better tires, and install them.  You might even decide on some luggage and get it installed before spring riding weather.  I wouldn't mess with upgrading the suspension, other than setting sag, before you get to spend some time in the saddle.

Then when spring rolls around you can get down to some serious riding and not have to be bothered with deciding on and installing farkles.

No place to store it, but the dealer will install heated grips, rear rack, center stand and electrical/USB outlets (discounted and free installation). Looking for the perfect hand guards and panniers to cover the essentials. All else will wait until I have actually risen the thing!  But, the fit and riding position is near perfect for me.

I can recommend Barkbusters. They worked perfectly with my Oxford heated grips. Others opinions may vary. I do all my own work and didnt have any issues.

I would love to go with bark Busters. You have a model number? and they fit okay with taking the balls off the ends of the leavers? I really appreciate your advice
