I bought these off Amazon.ca. Buy the shorty, adjustable levers off Amazon as well and you wont need to modify the stock levers. Theyre inexpensive and a straight bolt- up. Ill see if I can find the numbers for them and post for you.

:401: loads of opinions on luggage. It really depends on what sort of journeys you're planning. If you were just commuting to work, I'd say a medium sized top case, designed to take a full face helmet, eg. 35+Litre (for work clothes, shoes etc.). The endless debate about hard or soft luggage for touring comes down to one thing, in my opinion; if you're likely to drop the bike on a regular basis (trails and off road) go with soft stuff. If you plan to do mainly road work, hard cases are less hassle. If money's no object, get both...pannier racks work well for either.

As for particular brands, you're best off trawling through some of the other posts to see what works...off-the-peg pannier racks tend to be quite wide, which detracts from the X's slim profile, so some owners are tweaking them to reduce the width.

Thank you, you've been amazing. Just out of curiosity what year is your bike? I'm 2017. I know they improve the leavers at some point in the line,

For luggage, I like the Shad 23 liter side cases, mounted on the "3P" side case rack. The case size fits very nicely with the compact dimensions of the CB500X. I thought the 35 liter cases looked too large in the showroom. I also like that the 23L cases open from the top, so you can just throw stuff in, and it doesn't fall out when you open them.
