Bridgestone Battlax BT-023
« on: April 16, 2019, 07:40:13 PM »
Hi all, my front tyre (thankfully) is wearing out fast, thinking of the above mentioned hoop, anybody got any experience of them on a 500X?

Thank you.

Ive had them fitted for 8000 miles and theyve got about 2mm tread left. In the dry theyre perfect, in the wet they feel like they move a little but Ive never come off on them. I previously had continental trail attacks and thought they were better in the wet. I bought the kit from Abba to change tyres myself and will be swapping them for some Pirelli Diablo stradas soon (120 a pair on eBay). Everyone on here rates the Michelin PR4s so Id go for those unless the Bridgestones are significantly cheaper.

My opinion is that BT023's are completely aweful feeling tyres. Grip is quite OK , but they are Dunlop harsh in road feedback. They came on my MT07, and they were aweful. Make the bike feel like it isn't turning in ( it is , but doesn't feel like it. Unpleasant)
Of course OEM 023's may not be the same as aftermarket 023's . That is not an uncommon situation, as bike manufacturers seem to order their tyre run of a model to optimase longevity rather than grip.  So you may need a confirmation from someone who has fitted aftermarket set.

I quite liked BT023 tyres on the CB, but my preferred option is now the T30Evo. They are 1.5 generations later than the BT023 with better grip in wet/cold conditions.

Please note: In my post above ( which I am unable to correct for some reason), I mention optimase. Optimase is the enzyme needed to digest the sugar optimose...-
