A good independent Tyre Fitter South London
« on: May 02, 2019, 10:16:22 AM »
I got a bit fed up with the service at some of the local Tyre fitters near me.   Weights falling off while transporting the wheels back home, wrong tyre pressures, not understanding/caring about the red dot, so I had a look around for a more caring fitter.

Google maps pointed to a fitter just a couple of miles away from me in Chessington, South London.   So I popped over for a look.   Three Peaks is owned and run by Steven an ex-trials rider who has been working on bikes most of his life.   Although he set up as a Tyre Fitter he also does a bit of maintenance and customisation.   He works from a purpose built garage at his home.

None of this " please sit in the waiting room " you get a chair and a cup of tea and chat away while he is fitting the Tyres in front of you.

On the last visit, I also took a set of brake pads.  I would normally just do this myself, but as the wheels were coming off I thought I would ask Steven to fit.  The callipers and pistons were a bit dirty with mud and grime.   To my amassment and pleasure, he cleaned the callipers to showroom condition and polished the pistons after giving them a good check over.

Steve has fitted two sets of TKC80's for me and I am now discussing with him new Tyre options.   I really Like the TKC80's but I have nothing to compare them with, so I may go with something different, maybe the Mitas E-07's

Anyway, I do not lightly recommend companies, but if you are in/near South London then give him a call for a chat.

Having fun with a CB500XA with Rally Raid Level 3 upgrade.
