I think all mechanics set chain slack at about 25mm - they can't be bothered to check what is says on the chain guard/ swinging arm sticker. I have had two bikes done at their 600 mile service which should have had about 35-40mm slack and they were set at 25mm by the mechanics. That's one of the reasons why I do all my own servicing after the initial 600 mile service on my bikes.

Same thing here. On the first service, the mechanic set the slack at 20mm. It looked really tight, so at the next stop I readjusted it to 35mm, and felt better about that. Ever since when I lube the chain I make sure to check the slack, and it seems to get a bit loose every 1000 miles or so, so I do reset it to 35mm.

I reajusted my chain to 40mm. Feel more comfortable that way ! Thanks to all of you for your answers and advices !  :082:
