CB500x tripleclamp measurement
« on: June 12, 2019, 06:35:12 AM »
I am new here - love the CB500x and look forward to maybe owning one someday.

Does anybody know the measurements for the top triple clamp?  Fork width and offset.  Is the 2019 different from previous?

I am interested to see if I could fit the top triple from a CB500x onto a VFR750.  I saw a new 2019 at a dealer today and it looked like it could possibly work (beautiful machine).

Thank you!

Yup, the 19 model X has different offset triples than the previous models.
Imho the X forks are no improvement over the vfr750 being fairly simple damper rod forks themselves too. Also the 500x has a single front disc compared to the VFRs twin disc setup.

Edit: re reading found that you need only the top triples. Will try to do the measurements on my 16 (13-18 bikes are the same) later, and report back.
Sorry I have no access to 19 bikes.

Thanks for having a look - it is appreciated and very helpful.

The plan is to keep the front end on the VFR and swap a top triple that has bar risers.  Raising handlebars = more comfort for me.

An am thinking of raising the front and rear, adding some tires that can go off road and make an ADV inspired machine.

Something like that... only time will tell, but the handlebars need to be higher.  Too much weight on the hands and also pins and needles after a while.  Seat feels very low for me at 6'2" with a 34" inseam.  Probably would do well to lower the footpegs and recover the Corbin seat (and add some extra foam).

Runs like a dream though.
