if the part numbers are correct, these tunnels are used in nearly all F/R/X models in different countries

out of curiosity what year bike was this on.
I just had a quick look inside my 2017 airbox and theres no restriction in the velocity stacks,
the throttle butterflies don't fully open to 90deg (maybe 85/86deg without measuring) and there is no adjustment for full open on the throttle stop apart from a dremel lol which Im not doing.

so unless you are checking or changing your air filter I wouldn't bother looking inside the airbox to see if it has the restriction

2014 I think.  Throttle opening wasn't a source of restriction on 'mine'. Have you looked through the stacks?  Which of the ones in my picture do they look like? Are you able to put up a picture of yours?

Just checked; every model year on Partzilla (USA) has the same velocity stacks part number, as does Fowlers for the UK.  Either yours has been changed, or, more likely, you're not looking close enough!

sorry didn't take pictures and haven't long put it back together, my stacks look like the new ones you purchased I could see all of the butterflies in the closed position.

2017 part numbers 17251-MGZ-A00  19.80
                             17252-MGZ-A00  19.80
from bike parts uk .
same part number as the new ones you ordered
so your option is cheaper.

had my head down there could see everything clearly

uk 2014 part numbers 17251-MGZ-D00
                                 17252-MGZ-D00
so the uk 2014 are different to the 2017 and America models I haven't checked the uk 2016.
www.bike-parts-honda.com these are who I normally check my parts with.

just checked, the 2016 model uses the restricted velocity stacks so good upgrade  :028:

How interesting... Yeah, so it looks like your place is the best bet for a UK purchase- bit costlier, but probably quicker to get in.

In this case, I would say, check it whenever you're 'down there' and order the later models, if yours are the restricted ones.

Quick update;  The modified CB has gone through a couple of tanks of petrol.  No better or worse for consumption he says.

Only downside seems to be that he's going for a lot more overtakes now  :182:

Could be time to drop a couple of teeth on the rear sprocket now :-)
