New members homemade add ons...
« on: August 04, 2019, 07:31:12 PM »
Just posted as a new member with pictures of my home made stuff.
I sold my KLR, and the wife spends all my money, so I had to do
some mods on the cheap on my new "X" bike.
"X" is for the real price my wife doesn't know that I paid for it!!
I made a radiator grill from 1/4" hardware cloth painted flat black.
Cut up a $1 plastic pail and got three fender extenders, which I just
mounted with automotive trim tape.
And, the one I'm most proud of, a mud flap for the rear, out of a
rubber mat and a piece of sheet rock corner molding.
I stole that idea from a picture on the "Dirtracks" website.
It was mounted on a BMW 850 GS or similar bike.
I just wish someone made a cheap plastic skid plate, like my KLR had!!

Well done! I also would go for a plastic skidplate for light weight protection on the gravel roads I sometimes travel on.
