Ride Eat Sleep Repeat
« on: August 17, 2019, 08:55:04 AM »
Does anyone fancy meeting up for 1, 2, or3 days? I was thinking before the weather turns,  a group of us could meet at a Premier Inn, in a part of the country that is great for biking! Ride,Talk/Eat,Sleep Then a big Breakfast, repeat? Let me know.

I like the idea, but as mentioned in another similar post, distance could be a downside, especially if it's a long drag down a motorway - based on Glasgow (near me) to Bristol (near you?) we are over 370miles apart, although many others in between would have less of a problem.

My brother and I rode rented Royal Enfields to The Lake District a few years back, stayed in a Travelodge near Kendal which was well placed - good roads, petrol station right next door, motor museums, Bluebird water speed record on Lake Conniston etc. - but it is much nearer me at about 142/230miles.

Another possibility might be around Chester to ride the roads of North Wales etc., that's nearer Bristol at about 160/240 miles.  And plenty I don't know so much about in between, Peak District, Yorkshire Moors etc.

Any other ideas from owners who live down that way?

I'd be a possible if it were the Yorkshire Dales. I know the area quite well and could possibly recommend some good roads/places to stay.

250/300 miles for 2 or 3 nights, meeting other CB owners and riding great roads together is for me easy! Keep on communicating.

Just as long as no one wears a 'Ride, eat, sleep, repeat' t-shirt. Winds me up even more than the 'Ape, neanderthal, man etc' t-shirt!!
