Crankcase Breather Drain Tube is Totally Dry
« on: September 03, 2019, 01:55:09 AM »
I went to drain the crankcase breather yesterday because it was due based on mileage. Upon opening the cap, the drain tube was dry. The other time(s) I've done it the drain tube was also dry. Have any of you ever actually found liquid in the drain tube when performing this maintenance? I'm assuming it's not a bad sign for it to be dry (maybe it's actually a good sign), but I wanted to make sure.

To find oil in the tube you either have to overfill the engine with oil-run at high speed for a long time or ride in the rain alot-I have never drained any more than a few drops out of any Honda
It's not a big motorcycle just a groovy little motorbike

I just checked mine recently. About 7500 miles on the bike and no oil in the drain tube.

Thanks everyone for the reassurance. The way the manual reads, I keep expecting a bunch of crap to come gushing out when I open it. But I'll keep opening it up every 8,000 miles, and won't expect to see much in there from now on.
