The mk1 and mk2 bikes both had screens where the bolts come in at an angle. This doesn't affect the ability to use longer bolts and washers. They screw into rubber well nuts so there's a fair bit of tolerance.

mk1 and mk2 bikes?   :033:   Yes I googled those terms and I found no coherence to a 2019 cb500x's windshield mounting info.  Either way, that's good to know.

There have been 3 versions of the 500x since it was launched (in 2013?). The screen mounts are different on all 3.

Hi Motoryzen,

There's around 2mm travel short on the left bar - that's about it. So I don't think I'll bother modifying the screen, except to fit a screen extension to nullify the head buffeting, even with the screen in the higher position.

Cheers,

Pete

I think Mr P is eluding to Rally-Raids spacer kit seeming to be expensive, at 10mm I think it would be ample, if it takes the guesswork out of what spacers you need & screw length req it's not to bad it's personal choice wether you buy it, you pay your money you takes your choice!!

Thank you all for the input.  I'll make a choice within a couple of weeks and get back to you all on my results.
