I recently built a cover for the brake fluid. Since I still had material left and had a new idea, I built a new version for myself. The red film is glued on the inside and if I don't like it anymore, I can remove it. The liquid level can be read very well on the right side in the slot.
Now I have my "old" version and another one that I would like to hand in for a small fee. The versions differ only slightly on the "X".
They are all "Handmade in Germany".  :002:

adman, you have some serious styling going on that X (aside from your fabricated parts). Is that MacTac going to stay put? Just curious as I've only ever used the double-sided variety for mounting posters and the like. That there colored stuff is something I've never seen (or used) before. I must say, it sure does look nice!

Hello foamy,
thanks for your interest, what do you mean exactly? I do not get it. Can you put it differently, please?

I'm wondering if the applied colored graphics are going to stay on the bike without peeling off or having the edges curl.

Apologies, I speak and write colloquially.

Ah thanks Foamy, now I understand it.
I use a high-performance film from Mactac, which is specially produced for vehicle lettering and outdoor work. As a graphic designer, I work a lot with these or other foils and have never had any problems with them. Of course you have to take into account the properties of the surface and the film. The CBX has some problematic surfaces, but I'm confident that the film will hold there too.
The stickers on my Honda VFR lasted 26 years until I sold them, and they're probably still sticking ...  :038:

Thanks for elaborating adman. I've never worked with that type of MacTac. I'm going to have to look into it.

That bike will be a show piece when you get done with it! Nice work.

Please excuse the non-standard drawing, which I made quickly with my idea.
What could that be ...?
I was inspired by your brake cover, so I had a go at making my own the J is a bit off center but this was my second attempt.
