I just came from a 2002 FZ1 which of course has basically the same engine as the R1. I sold it about a month ago to get a CB500xa.

I liked the FZ1 with bar risers, higher windshield etc and did a fair amount of touring on it, but it was big and heavy and I could only look down the dirt roads as I passed them  :003:

I have loved taking the CB everywhere I've wanted to go. I've missed that a lot.

The FZ looks cool, but yeah, quite a powerhouse...and, the R was hot. Generated so much heat, which would be fine in winter, I like that th CB runs comfortably.

This was my SV100SK I swapped for my 500X. It was immaculate and the acceleration being a twin was damn sharp! I swapped out the front end for GSXR K6 using EBC HH pads. The brakes saved me enough times into corners that I started to realise that the speed is not all that. I began to stop having a smile on my face riding the bike. Sure its nice to be able to overtake quickly.. But now I have my smile back, my CB is comfy on my wrists, legs, hips, backside. I can see over hedges. I don't arrive in corners at Warp 6. I can appreciate the countryside more. I love it, a nice bike, I am glad I swapped!  :152:

This is my signature, there are many like it but this one is mine!

The CBX is fun to ride all day, day after day.  I have fewer WEEEEE's than on my VFR, but more smiles!

Sure does look nice, but, yeah, cbx comfort level is hard to top. I looked at some BMWs before I got the cbx. One was a gs 800, and quite a gorgeous yellow, with lots of extras. But, I could barely stand it upright. So monstrously heavy. The cbx is not that light, but it seems more balanced and manageable.

I don't have a CB500X yet but I do have this  :002: It's my CB1300  :018:

I intend to use the 500 as a run around  :306: and the 1300 for touring and longer rides  :305:

The torque the 1300 gives is amazing  :062:

Also hoping that the 500 will be with me for a long time to come, we can grow old together

Very Nice swanny :152: the X will make a good addition, both very good at different things.. Nice to have a choice when you step into the garage .. One day I dream of having a selection of bikes to choose for my mood and riding style that day  :017:  :305:
