Still shopping
« on: October 18, 2019, 05:45:35 PM »
Hello all,

I joined up to get user information on the CB500X. I am currently on a 2013 Yamaha Super Ten which I have had since 2015 and really enjoy, but thinking of something a little smaller. I would guess 80% of my riding is a daily commute of 24 miles round trip. I really like the upgrades that Honda seems to have made with the 2019, but I suspect I will most likely buy a used one to save on some dollars. Also contemplating returning to BMW with a GS 800/750. Considering the new T7, but probably won't get a brand new one. I usually take one week long trip per year and maybe a weekend or two with some camping, so I would need the add-ons for that. I do like to explore on gravel fire service roads, but nothing technical at all.

I would appreciate all input!

Thanks

Welcome, Anwar!  I've had my 2018 for a year, and put almost 13,000 miles on it, all road, with about 5,000 from a single trip out west.  And I love the bike.  My last bike was a VFR800, which was a beautiful machine, but I have so much fun riding this bike.  I love how light it is, and the price is right!

Thanks. Everything I have read has been positive. And I like the dealer network available along with Honda reliability.

Just kidding, welcome. All I can tell you is that I would, hell I did, go for the CBX.
Just damn happy to be here...

I loved my F800ST so that's why the GS is on the list, but I would rather not have BMW expense again just for the name. Loved those heated grips and the computer, though.

:400: the X is a solid bike :306: hopefully the forum helps you make your choice. The bike is transformed for off road use with the help off Rally Raid goodies if that's your thing. Happy shopping :152:
