But I'm just dreaming because we can't buy one in the US. (Yamaha you listening ? ( they have to be spying on Honda forums ! :038: )
It's curious - why Yamaha doesn't sell Tracers in USA but Honda sells CB500X. And it seems CBs are quite popular there. Are Yamaha bosses reluctant to earn money  :084: ?

Tax problem?
The 500X is made in Malaysia, tracer 700 and 900 are made in France...

Ahh - didn't know that - it is assembled in Saint-Quentin according to Google! Yes - it's a good reason. 700cc bike would be too expensive for US market. Thanks for the info!

Simple supply and demand. You see 50 harleys and crotch rockets for every adv bike on the road and then 1/2 of those are bmws. Most adv bikes sit at the dealer for several years before they sell. At least in Florida.

The opposite here - a lot of adv bike on road. GS 1200, 800, Tiger 800, Versys and similar. Most of them never seen dirt or gravel road. And some harleys as a part of landscape - overtaken by everybody with any sort of engine (steam, gas, petrol, soda water  :001: ).

Went by the dealership today and asked the sales manager about the Tracer 700 coming to the US, All I got from him was a "Wassat?" . They have not sold a single CB500X or NC750 in two years and still have a few 2-3 year old Versys 650's on the floor (brand new). They didn't even know that The CB500X had been revamped. They log their lost sales and he looked and had only 2 inquiries for the CB500X in the last 12-18 months.
:191:
What's telling is that they bought 2 brand new CTX700's from a Honda to dealer auction (Only Honda dealers can buy stuff at this auction ). That bike has not been built since 2016. He also said that there were quite a few 2 plus year old CB500X's also for sale to dealers. They did not buy any. They do sell a lot of bikes and it is a big place but it seems that the adventure market is not so much of a thing in South Florida, other than BMWs. They do have 3-4 MT07's and a bunch of Kawasaki Z650's , and a Tracer 900 and 3 MT09's. Of course a regular assortment of crotch rockets and cruisers. A bunch of dirt bikes and quite a few smaller displacement Suzuki DR's and tons of kiddy dirt bikes. That's out of maybe 150 total bikes in the showroom. The also sell giant 4 wheelers and Waverunners and Yamaha Boats. But that's South Florida. I would love to see national sales numbers for the CB500X. I'm sure they sell 10 times more in Europe , maybe because of the A2 requirements and the lower average speeds.
