I use the tallest Honda position plus Bruudts in the tallest position plus a tall, clear windshield from this guy: https://www.ebay.com/str/motoroar

Im 188 (62). I look about 5 cm (2) over the top, which is perfect for the highway. Its important to get a clear windshield if you ever ride before sunrise or after sunset . My previous bike came with a tall, smoked windshield. The smoke color looked nice, but coming over the crest of a hill at night I couldnt see the road surface. It was dangerous.

Jeez! This lights should be visible from space when they're on :005:

They are 18W, $10 each from AliExpress, including postage--too cheap to be seen from space. The lower two are floodlights. The upper two are spotlights. The floodlights are so the oncoming traffic can see me without getting irritated by the spotlights. They are also very helpful for a short distance at night. The spotlights are for riding at night. The spotlight beams are rather wide at 30 degrees, so they mainly fill in the area around the Honda high-beam and are especially helpful when cornering in the dark and the Honda high-beam is pointing out of the curve. The handlebar switch ($3 from AliExpress, including postage) is wired to two relays and two diodes to get this arrangement:

In the first position, on Honda Low-Beam, all LED lights are turned off. The floodlights come on with the High-Beam. I use this position in fog and in dim villages or parking lots to be considerate of people’s eyes. In the second position, on Honda Low-Beam, the floodlights are on. On Honda High-Beam, all the lights are on. I normally ride this way. I avoid riding at night but I like to hit the road an hour before dawn.

It's all plugged into the 3-pin Honda Options Power Connector under the right hand middle cowling.

So... what works for 2013-15 models?

The bike I got came with Ermax touring screen https://www.ermax.com/Honda/CB-500-X/touring_screen_CB_500_X_2013-2015.html?egap=article&ida=4717

I'm 5'8" and all I got from this ermax screen is bunch of noise and wind hitting straight into my eyes. I've tried moving it around and it didn't do much (funny that lower position seems a bit better). After reaching speed of 30mph my eyes are being blasted with super annoying stream of wind to a point where I have to drop the visor.

Can anyone not shorter than 5'8" reveal what's working on very first models?

I've been browsing through forums and basically what I found especially after reading through about 40-50 pages of windshield megathread that nothing really works and it's very individual...

Three things that seemed to have decent opinions were:

Besides there are also option of stock shield with spacers (don't have it so can't try it, but seems a cheapest option) as well as getting rid of screen at all - tried it and definitely prefer it over ermax which won't let me to listen to the engine.

Have anyone tried OEM tall screen and had success with it?

Could this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/For-Honda-CB500X-2013-2016-Black-Aluminum-Adjustable-Windshield-Bracket-Kit-MO/293219738079
Work?

TBF, most screens at this time of year in the motherland, are self tinting.

Start out as clear, in the morning, and are brown by the evening....   :015:

Rinse, and repeat. (Literally)

I'm 5'9" and I have a 2018. I find the MRA X-creen Sport spoiler set so it is straight up and down works very well including a few thousand miles at 60mph and faster. But it is not cheap. There are other, cheaper spoilers you could try.
