LOOK ! Get one on the road. My recollection from the ride at the MCN Peterborough show was it's a CB with more go.

3 quite different bikes!

CB500X is sit up and relax behind the 'high' bars and screen, XSR is naked, frantic, more powerful, fun.  Tracer is probably a combination of both......  Difficult choice you have there!!   :001:

Remember your 'brief' - a bike to grow old with..... to me that has an X in the name.....

I think the CB5 is the better choice for me. I have my CB13 for power and touring so I want something a bit further away from that, the Tracer is getting into big bike territory. The XSR might stop me riding my 13  :008:

I have both a Honda cb500x ( 2013) and an MT07 ( the base version of the 07 tracer).
For general riding around the 500 is better ( once re-suspended) and has a better sized tank ( probably not as important in tiny countries). The 07 is a great bike and the tracer, though heavier, handles better ( again once resuspended) than the base 07 because it has a longer swingarm which helps reduce the base models rear weight bias.
For spirited riding the Yammy is better, for everything else the Honda is better ( again a factor for me is the fuel tank size).
Both have fantastic suspension aftermarket options available ( which unfortunately they both need).

In the area "On two wheels" there is a thread about Tracer 700. There I also wrote a detailed driving report about the Tracer 700.
A straight line is only the shortest connection between two curves ...
