Hello! I'm looking at getting a new bike and like what little I've read so far about the CB500X. I currently have a 2009 650 V-Strom with 71k miles. Since I'm getting older, something lighter would be nice. Looking forward to learning more from owners about this bike!

Welcome, neighbor to the north. 71 kmiles on the V Strom must have some good stories to go with them. Won't you miss the power if you swap it for an X?

The only time I'd miss the power would be when passing on some of the curvy roads around here. I hardly ever go over 6k rpm, unless passing, on the V-Strom. What I want is a lighter bike that gets even better gas mileage and is comfortable enough for 2-up riding. My wife loves riding with me.

Welcome & Enjoy - I occasionally have a pillion in my daughter - last september we toured Germany from UK 2 up with luggage and quite a bit of motorway blasting - still returned 65 -70 mpg and was fine up to 85mph on autobahns without a struggle. I sure do love this little bike.  :305: :305: :152: :152:
