That motorcyclist displayed extraordinary restraint.

The car driver who committed the assault was very lucky.  Had he assaulted my wife and I in that manner, he would have had several 9mm rounds in his chest.  Very dumb thing to do in the USA.

What a friggin idiot.

As a driver AND motorcyclist, Im glad the foolishness of filtering is recognized in this country.  Thankfully, filtering is only legal in one US state, California, and there only under certain circumstances.

But even if that motorcyclist was filtering illegally, thats a matter for the police and is no cause for the motorist to assault him and his passenger.  We didnt see the end of that story but I can only hope he was taken into custody and charged.

Being able to filter through slow and stationary cars must be the best reason to commute by motorcycle in UK!!

Filtering is just pushing in under a different name!

One of the funniest things I've seen is while sat on my bike in a line of traffic. You could see about half a mile ahead there was a hold up and this idiot on a nice CBR600F behind me decided to ride down the outside of the line of cars at a about 30mph. The reason I hadn't done it was that I knew that quite often people on that road decide to turn round and go a different way - and lo and behold that is exactly what happened! The strange thing was that the biker seemed to be asleep and just kept going right until the last minute until it was too late and he ran into the side the car and fell off! I rode past slowly just shaking my head as he was shouting at the unfortunate car driver.

I do 'filter' occasionally but only at walking pace and not aggressively. But then I only ride for fun, not as a way to gain an advantage over cars on the commute.

The guy in the vid had some serious issues I think!

I always filter. Sitting in a queue of traffic in the summer sun is madness  :087:

I was once filtering on my way to RAF Waddington for the air show when I spotted a traffic cop standing in the road ahead so I tucked back in, he motioned me forward so I rode upto him he said "no point you waiting in this que so if you promise you'll go slow & be careful of you go" so away I went in careful mode :001:

Lancs Lad, strange you mention RAF Waddington, the incident I mention above was about a mile away from there when I was on the way home!

Filtering isn't foolish. It's acceptable on your test in the UK. It's a major advantage of riding a motorcycle.

This driver obviously has some mental health problems. Shooting him wouldn't be the answer.
