Cheap hand-guards for 2019/20MY
« on: March 03, 2020, 06:22:30 PM »
 :183:
I'm looking for some cheap hand-guards that will fit my 19/20 bike
I intend to get Barkbusters but they are expensive and I have a list of things to buy so I'd rather put something cheaper on for now. I had a look at some Polisport guards that I had fitted to my CRF250L but with the brake reservoir where it is I don't think they will fit

Any suggestions?  :027:

Thanks

I am also looking for hanguards, I have found these>

https://es.aliexpress.com/item/4000372197630.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.e58965e9JyOl1b&algo_pvid=331ac26e-da6f-43b0-9e1f-7d1e62044911&algo_expid=331ac26e-da6f-43b0-9e1f-7d1e62044911-51&btsid=0b0a187b15832617341934941e0cf4&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_

I have not purchased them but they seem to get a good review if it's believable.
I suppose in the long run Barkbusters or similar are going to be the best, for me just seems to much work to remove the bar end weghts.

There seems to be a number of guards like these being sold
https://www.amazon.co.uk/XX-eCommerce-Motorcycle-Motorbike-Handguard/dp/B07HDXWNXR/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=cb500x+handguard&qid=1583265672&sr=8-3
I fitted some similar ones which I think came from Ebay, the connection to the bar ends was a bit flimsy to I fashioned something more substantial. I doubt they'll last a drop but they are very effective at keeping the wind and rain off which was all I was looking for.

It really isn't, it should take you less than a minute per side at best... this question has been asked numerous times, and the same answer is on the forum already:

fwiw. if all you want is some winter weather protection, then any old cheap ebay 'universal' plastic hand guards ought to work - but personally I'd save your money and ultimately put it towards something high-quality and strong, like the BarkBusters. "Buy cheap, buy twice" and all that...

Cheers Jinx they look like just the ticket.

I know what you're saying Jenny but my wallet took a massive hit buying the bike so I'm happy to buy some cheap stuff just for now. One day I will buy Barkbusters but at the moment a cheap set of windguards and a nice exhaust are more important  :002:

These plastic ones have the advantage of leaving Honda's anti-vibration weights in place, so they should not affect your handlebar vibration.

These are cheap and look ok. They keep your hands warmer as they are quite big and keep the direct wind off your hands. I use them on my 2017X. Unscrew the weight, install and put the weight back on.
If you look on Ali you can find cheaper prices for this one and if you break one they are cheap to replace.

These cheapies look tempting - I don't ride off road but a bit of protection from wind and rain would be a nice addition!  :190:

Handguards and heatgrips make a massive difference when the weather is mild. I also treated myself over christmas to some heated inner soles and OMG they're even better! Just means I can ride for alot longer and more comfortably in mild weather  :152:  :305:
